Who We Are

Gus Ricci Architect was established in April 2000 as a boutique design oriented architectural firm providing specialized services in the custom residential, commercial and institutional sectors. Projects include new homes, cottages, country retreats, golf course clubhouses, restaurants and small scale commercial / industrial developments. We take great pride in providing a very hands-on approach and guiding our clients through all aspects of their project; irrespective of size or scope. One of our great strengths is that we listen and respect our clients’ needs. Our services range from site selection, conceptual design, permit drawings, municipal approvals, selection of builders, interior detailing to construction review. Included in all of this is managing and coordinating consultants such as engineers, landscape architects and interior designers.

With a commitment to residential architecture, Gus Ricci Architect treats each project individually with a passion for detail, materials and construction. We have diverse capabilities designing in many styles of architecture and we are constantly studying and learning to fine tune our skills. We maintain an ongoing attention to detail and believe in providing a high level of detailed drawings at all stages to execute the design intent. Our expertise and skills are combined to ensure that our detailed design approach is maintained from initial design sketches through to construction completion.

Gus Ricci
B. Arch, OAA, MRAIC Principal

Gus Ricci graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1989 from the Faculty of Architecture & Landscape Architecture, University of Toronto and in 1999 became a Licensed Architect as granted by the Ontario Association of Architects. Prior to establishing Gus Ricci Architect in April 2000, Gus gained valuable experience as a Graduate Architect working for Matsui Baer Vanstone and James Goad  in Toronto where the firms specialized in custom residential, cottages and condominium work in the Greater Toronto area. That experience lead to a move to Oakville in 1993 to join the highly regarded firm, Gren Weis Architect & Associates, where his experience was further developed as an Associate and Project Architect. As a resident and active member of the community, Gus is a past Director of the Oakville Galleries.

The guiding rule for Gus in founding his own firm was to be very hands-on and have a personal dialogue with each client and project in the office. As the main designer in the office, he enjoys the challenges of designing in various styles and scales of project and approaches each with the same level of enthusiasm. Gus also strives to make sure that the relationship with clients is friendly and courteous and always professional.
